National Stage Contest YPEF in Austria

The National Stage Contest took place on 24th of April 2012 at the Technical Forestry High School Bruck / Mur (Styria. In Austria the Contest was organized by the Union of Austrian Foresters and supported by the Ministry of Life. The Contest language was Englisch. The Contest had two parts: 1st category: list of questions; 2nd category: short Power point presentation about forest and environment. Participants were the students from 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes - Forestry High School, (2a, 2b, 3a, 3b, 4a and 4b); 13 students came to the final round. The National Commission decided that winner are:  1. Mr. Johannes Rieder (4b),  Mrs.  Alexandra Russ (3a), 3. Mr. Dietmar Wöls (4b).

Elimination in Poland.

On Wednesday the 18th April took place in Poland the elimination of the second edition of the YPEF contest. The competition was attended by nearly 2500 teams from more than 500 middle schools and high schools. Qualifying took place in about 250 schools YPEF. Currently the results are being send to the YPEF  National Contest Commission. More information see ypef.eu/poland.

NCC Austria meeting.

On 26th of March took place the National Contest Commission meeting in Austria. Commision decided the National Contest will take place in Bruck / Mur on 24th of April 2012.

Sagadi, Estonia - place of European final stage of the second edition of the YPEF contest.

On 26-27th of September winning teams from European counties will meet together in Sagadi, Estonia. Sagadi manor complex is from 18th century. It is situated in the Lahemaa National Park, only an hour drive from Estonia capital city Tallinn. The location has access to nature paths, the seashore, picturesque villages and other manors. Well known is also the Sagadi forest museum.

Greece has joined to the Contest!

0n 27th of March 2012 Greece joined to the second edition of the YPEF International Contest. The Management Body of Parnitha National Forest Park  will organize the National Stage of the YPEF contest in Greece. We welcome very cordially Anna Derveni, Georgia Votaki, Anestis Sampanidis, Panagiota Krentiri and Christos Kakaletris from National Contest Commission Greece and we wish them lot of success in the YPEF project. Welcome to the Contest!

First round in Hungary.

46 schools, approximately 100 teams took part in the first round of the second edition of the YPEF national stage contest in Hungary. The organizers of the race in Hungaryare  the National Forestry Association and the Kitaibel Paul High School Biology, Environmental Studies .
